Here's our first good look at DM's newest offering, the 1963 A/C Cobra 289, and it looks like a real beauty. It should be for $299. This is another 1:18 scale model from Exoto (thank you, Jay), and from what I've heard they're quite spectacular in terms of accuracy and detail. Ask for DM item number 9196-0013, and tell 'em Peter sent you!

Wow is the most common reaction I've heard to the paint scheme on DM's newest LE. We reported this two weeks ago (see below), but now we've got proof positive with this image from the Danbury Mint website. The coupe was spectacular, and this drop-top version promises to be every bit as amazing, right down to the reversible seat cushions. I ordered mine right away, and you can too. The item number is 8610-0013.

...Danbury has done it again. Even though it's a repaint, and even though the 69 muscle cars are overdone already, DM chose the perfect color this time--Carousel Red. This 40th anniversary is truly worth celebrating.

...The one I mentioned here a couple of weeks ago. It's an old tooling to be sure so there's no convertible top, just a permanent boot cover, but darned if the Danbury Mint hasn't picked a killer color scheme for this 40th anniversary issue. Click here to see the full color brochure.

Even though this 58 Belvedere from DM is only a minor retooling of their 58 Fury, it's one that many collectors have been awaiting for years. The white over yellow paint job is very pleasing to the eye, and the level of detail overall appears to be up to Danbury's high standards. Kudos for getting rid of the rear quarter window glass to show off that long flowing hardtop roofline. By the way, it's a regular issue at $129 plus shipping. What a color choice! I can't imagine there were many 56 Packards that left the factory this way, but our friends at the Danbury Mint found an original 1:1 that had been special ordered in black with orange trim. Wow! Subtle it's not, but considering the color choice, it's not as loud as you might think. The interior is mostly either white or dark gray with orange used solely as an accent color. Depending on which way you position the reversible seat cushions (just like on the real car), you can have a Summery white vinyl, or a cozy gray cloth for those chilly nights. This Limited Edition piece is sure to be a stunner, so don't delay. DM is taking orders as of this writing.
